Zakk Wylde / Otherwise – Las Vegas NV : September 1 2016

What an absolutely incredible show tonight at The House of Blues in Las Vegas… Toni and I quite literally stumbled upon this show as we were checking in to the Billy Idol show last night, getting our tickets and table assignment, Toni saw a flyer for the Zakk Wylde show, with Otherwise opening up. Toni has been wanting to see this show and especially Otherwise for a while and just by happen chance we were in Vegas the same time as the show. I have had the pleasure of seeing Otherwise three years ago in Seattle when they opened up for 3 Days Grace and stole the show then, and I hate to say it (as I am a big Zakk Wylde fan) but they stole the show again! These guys just ROCK! They have so much energy and passion for their art that really shows through in the performance.

They played about 9 songs in their set ending with Soldiers, one of my all time favorite rock anthems. I was able to get video of it, but I think the volume was a bit too much for my camera and it’s a bit distorted, but I uploaded to YouTube if you would like to check it out. I was able to meet the guys from the band after their set and they are all such great guys. We can’t wait to see them again.

Zakk Wylde came on a little after 10:00 and was amazing. We have seen him a few times before and are never disappointed in his performance. I just love the guitar solos and the power of his music.

This was the last night of our 25th anniversary trip to Vegas and we could;t have asked for a better way to end it than with this show.

Of Mice & Men / Marilyn Manson – Auburn WA : August 11 2016

Another great show at the White River Amphitheater Thursday night. The line-up was Of Mice & Men, Marilyn Manson and Slipknot, so quite a heavy show. We were actually there mostly for Marilyn Manson as we have never seen him before and this was on our list of must see artists. We have seen of Mice & Men a few times and as always they put on a great show. Love their music.

Marilyn Manson definitely did not disappoint in the on stage theatrics and overall stage show. What a great stage presence, I can only imagine what it would be to meet him in person. The setlist was full of great songs such as Disposable Teens, Irresponsible Hate Anthem and closing the set was of course The Beautiful People. My favorite though was Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These) – an old Eurythmics song which he performed walking the stage on stilt.

Great show!

In This Moment – White River Amphitheater – Auburn WA : July 27 2016

Enjoyed a concert with the whole family which sadly does’t happen as often as it used to. We went to the “Return of the Dreads” tour with KORN and Rob Zombie at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn WA. but really went to see the opening act, In This Moment. We have seen them a few times and is one of Nicki’s favorite bands and they never disappoint in putting on a fabulous ‘shock rock’ performance. Maria Brink has such a powerful voice and the theatrics, stage show and costumes are just over the top (in a good way). They put on about an hour show at which time we all decided that we were not really in the mood to see KORN and Rob Zombie and decided to go have a good meal.

Bullet for my Valentine/ Asking Alexandria – Los Angeles CA : February 5 2016

It’s been a bit of a dry spell between concerts with this being the first of the year. Toni and I flew down to LA to see one of my favorite bands, Bullet For My Valentine who were performing what they are calling the ‘British Invasion’ Tour with Asking Alexandria and While She Sleeps. They were playing at our all time favorite venue, the Wiltern which is just a classy vintage theater with a ton of vibe and style. We had great seats on the mezzanine right up front on the aisle. Most of the venue was general admission, which gave the folks who were so inclined the ability to mosh, slam dance, crowd surf and otherwise have an incredible physical concert experience….there were three mosh pits going at any one time, which for the size of the floor was something to see. Being up in the reserved seats gave Toni and I what we like, which is to sit, relax and listen to some great music.

Always a refreshing to experience a show with a younger audience to soak in the fresh energy.

Five Finger Death Punch – Everett WA : September 12 2015

Well, I had to leave town unexpectedly, but Toni and Nicki braved it up and went up to Everett to see Five Finger Death Punch, In This Moment and Papa Roach. They had a great time and I was so happy that they were able to make it…Nicki was even able to meet Maria Brink (lead singer for In This Moment) which was super cool and made Nicki very happy.

Toni was manning the camera for the show and took some great shots.
